6 Olympic Athletes, 3 Countries, 1 Visa Campaign

Visa

Ask any Olympic athlete and they’ll be the first to tell you that the Olympic dream is not easily achieved.  A podium-worthy performance is built. Not in one giant leap, but in thousands of small steps. It’s the dedication, resilience and commitment along the way that makes the destination a reality.

A truth in athletics, but also in everyday life.

Visa has been a proud Global Olympic partner for nearly 40 years and is the longest-standing global partner of the International Paralympic Committee. The Olympics presented the opportunity for Visa to showcase its new brand platform, the Power of Small Steps – no matter where you are in your journey, Visa believes the power of small steps will take you closer to where you want to be.

For the Canadian campaign, Visa wanted to light a fire in the hearts of Olympic fans and increase brand relevance through a shared passion for the Games. To meet these challenges, we developed creative that gave some insight into the ups and downs of the athletes journey and their 100% commitment to achieve their goals. Through this powerful story-telling, we allow viewers to imagine the ways in which they might use a similar approach to achieve greatness in their own lives.

“By showcasing the commitment of Canadian athletes, we inspire fans and individuals to see their own potential and strive for their dreams,” said Vini Dalvi, Chief Creative Officer of Publicis.

Struggles and success. It doesn’t matter if you’re an Olympic athlete or a local small shop owner, life is about waking up and grinding out a routine, every day – rain, shine, sleet or hail. And that’s an idea we can relate to.
